Tasmania

Tasmanian Orff Schulwerk Association Inc., better known as T.O.S.A. We are a teachers association that provides support and professional development in the area of music education. T.O.S.A. is affiliated with the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk (A.N.C.O.S.).

T.O.S.A. has a strong membership of over eighty music educators whose area of teaching ranges from early childhood through to tertiary education. We also provide support for generalist classroom teachers from K-6 who want assistance in using music in their classrooms.

Our members look forward to regular monthly workshops which are held in all of our three state branches, where local or visiting presenters conduct activities. Southern members meet at the South Hobart Primary Music Room on the third Thursday of every month from March to November. In the North West monthly workshops are held at Nixon Street Primary on the second Tuesday of the month from 3:45 to 5:00pm. Our North Members meet at Junior Campus of the Scotch Oakburn College, on the third week of the month alternating between Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00pm.

At the beginning of each year, usually mid to late January, T.O.S.A. usually has a Summer School in Hobart with a visiting presenter. We also usually have a mid-year statewide workshop which is held in the North or North West of the state.
