Jenny Whiteman is a trained music specialist, having received her
degrees in music and in education at the University of Sydney. She has
taught classroom music from Kindergarten to HSC level, including all
elective and non-elective streams and all HSC courses. She has been
the Music Co-coordinator of a Junior school music program, involving
classroom music lessons as well as an extensive extracurricular
program which involve both instrumental and choral groups. Her
particular interest in the Infants/Primary age group led her to pursue
post-grad. studies in this area.
Jenny's special interest and love is for choral music and she has been
involved as a choral director in such organisations as the Australian
Girls Choir and City of Sydney Singers. She has also been invited to be
Musical Director and Conductor for a number of large scale choral events
involving from 500 up to 800 primary age children, held in the Sydney
Town Hall and Sydney Opera House.
Jenny has been involved in a number of professional organisations
including the Orff Schulwerk Association , in which she completed
studies and in the Australian National Choral Association, for which she
served on the committee for a number of years.
