Robyn Staveley and David Spurgeon have worked together in the Bachelor of Dance program at NSW University for seven years on a subject called "Music for the Dancer". David was attracted to the Orff approach for its active learning process, very necessary for kinaesthetic learners such as dancers, and Robyn was attracted to seeing the movement response when teaching music to dancers. Their collaboration and team teaching approach has resulted in a very exciting program exploring musical concepts and skills through movement, using repertoire of many different styles and types, including unusual and mixed metres, contemporary and experimental music and Australian repertoire.
