Kakadu Kolo

"Kakadu Kolo" is from Jon Madin's Marimba Music 2, a collection of easy arrangements for diatonic marimbas, xylophones and other instruments.

Along with the driving marimba ostinati the piece consists of a relentless mix of plastic barel drum and two plastic maracas playing in the alternate updown African Hosho style. An anthem-style melody played on the saxophone is used to start and concluded the piece.

Marimba Music 2 consists of a Book and CD of eighteen pieces in a range of styles which include: reggae; rock and roll; ethnic; gospel and dance melodies. The arrangements include parts suitable for different class levels and ability groups.
